Rehearsal 14 March 2024

Good morning,

Here is a message from Lillian regarding this coming Thursday’s rehearsal.

Hello all,
I’d like to rehearse the following songs, and then just the men at the very end around 9:30pm to rehearse Matchstalk Men, please.
Rutter
Come What May
Shenandoah
Don’t Cry for Me*
Chili Caliente
Viva la Vida
Happy Talk*
Human
One Day*
Matchstalk Men
I won’t be spending a lot of time on the * songs because those are for our Summer Spectacular in July, but I want to run through them a little to get familiar with them.
Thank you!
Lillian
Well, that’s all I have for now.
See you later.
Eric

NMM Dinner

Hi there,
Just to remind those that are going to the dinner on Saturday that we need the balance paid online into our account so that we do not have to deal with cash on the night, or you can bring the cash tomorrow and give it to Sharon.
The balance is £22.95 per person.
Many thanks
Eric

Rehearsal 7 March

Hi There,

Firstly, here is a massage from Lillian regarding this week’s rehearsal.
I’m sad to have missed rehearsal last week! I hope to be back this week and I’d like to go through these:
Chili Caliente
Rocketman
Wherever You Are
Someone to Watch Over Me
Matchstalk Men..
To Make You Feel
Rhythm of Life
When You Believe
Shenandoah
Java Jive
Don’t Cry for Me Argentina
Looking forward to it,
Lillian
Secondly, Tony has been doing a sterling job of going through all of our music, and he has produced a list of songs that could either be used in future concerts or as solos etc by you.  If you would like to use one of the pieces of music, contact Tony who will get the copy from our stores. He is now in the process of going through all the Christmas Music.
Talking of Christmas, we are going to be holding a Music Committee Meeting sometime in May to decide on the music for our Christmas concert, so if you have any ideas can you let your rep know.  For your information the reps are as follows:- Hilary Green – Sops, Maggie Jacobs – Altos, Percy Knight – Tenors, Eric Gerrey – Bass.
Thirdly, we are doing a Private Concert for the people at Bitterne URC on Thursday, 25th April, at 2.30pm.  So that Chris has some idea of what songs to use for the concert, he would like to know who will be available, so could you let me know, by email if you are available.
We have 49 going to the dinner on Saturday, which is an increase over the past two years, and I hope you are all looking forward to it.
Also, normally on Maundy Thursday, we have to hold our rehearsal at another venue as the church is used for a Communion Service, but this year the church is holding their service at Woolston, so we can have the hall as normal.
Well, that’s all for now, so I will either see some you at Hamble Heights tomorrow for the Local Vocals, or on Thursday at our rehearsal.
Bye for Now.
Eric

Tonight’s Rehearsal

Hi there,
Due to the fatal accident on the M27 yesterday, and the motorway remaining shut for today, trying to get to the rehearsal tonight might prove very difficult for many.
I will keep on eye on the traffic conditions, but if it does not improve, I will take the decision to cancel the rehearsal.
I will try and let you know in good time, but also keep a look on the WhatsApp page as well.
Regards
Eric

Also, can you let me know if you are interested in the dinner on the 9th March as we need to get on a pay a deposit.
Well, that’s all for now so I will either see you at Local Vocals on Tuesday at Snowdrop Place, or at rehearsal on Thursday.
Bye for now.

Secondly, I have finalised the date for the Annual Dinner which will be held on the 9th March at the Prince Consort, Netley.  The cost for this will be £27.95 per person, and we need a £5.00 deposit per person as soon as possible.  I enclose a copy of the menu together with the form so that you can fill in your choices.  I have added the option of Tea or Coffee to the menu to stop any problems at the end of the dinner.
Well that’s about it for this week, so I will either see you Wednesday at Local Vocals or on Thursday at the rehearsal.
Bye for now.
