Michael Goldthorpe joined the choir as our Musical Director in September 2011.
Born in York, Michael studied at Trinity College Cambridge, King’s College London and The Guildhall School of Music and Drama London before joining the BBC Singers and the music profession. He has made many records and has appeared on radio and television throughout Western Europe, America and the Far East.
Michael has always been interested in light music. He has appeared regularly in BBC Radio 2 programmes such as Among Your Souvenirs and Friday Night is Music Night. Interests beyond music are the theatre, literature, foreign languages, motorcycling and computing.
The Lymington Choral Society is also fortunate to have Michael as their Conductor.
