Martins Archive

Martin Small , who sadly passed away in April 2020, was a friend of the New Music Makers for many years. He would turn up every Thursday rehearsal and make the tea and coffee for the half-time break. He also was there at the main concerts with his video recorder and produced tapes and DVDs of the concerts for the members.

But he also produced an amazing archive of practically all the programs, tickets, newspaper clips, some photos and other printed matter related to the choir since his involvement. Martin did this as his own personal record but kindly agreed to let us reproduce it here on the website. It’s a wonderful record of over 35 years of the choir that we would have been deprived of if it wasn’t for his dedication.

The archive is split into 5 volumes and has now been digitised and available for us all to see. It is roughly in date order so explore at leisure. The volumes don’t take too long to go through and you may find some unexpected names and pictures.

If anyone has pictures, programs or any other information for the period from 1970 (the start of the choir) to 1981 then please can you make it available to complete the archive.
