Community Choirs Festival – Saturday 8th July 2017
The d.@rt Centre are delighted to be hosting their fourth Community Choirs Festival and we hope that your choir would like to join us in 2017.
Last year’s event was a wonderful celebration of singing, with both choir members and solo singers coming together to take part in fun educational workshops, and an evening choral concert. I have attached some photos so you can see how much fun the festival was!
The order of the day will be as follows:
10.00 Registration opens
10.30 All together in the main hall for introductions and a quick ice breaker
10.45 Workshop 1- see below for choices of workshop
12.15 Workshop 2 – see below for choices of workshop
2.15 Workshop 3 Everybody together in the school hall to learn a joint song
3.15 Break –
4.00 Concert begins – this will include a ‘show and tell’ from the morning workshops, choir performances and finish with all the choirs singing together the work from Workshop 3.
6.00 Concert finishes.
There will be a £5 registration fee for persons attending the workshop sessions. There is no charge for choir members who do not attend the workshops but sing in the evening concert. Workshop subjects will be sent through shortly for any interested choir members to decide which two they would like to do. Our workshops this year will once again be led by local choir leaders and they will each be running their chosen workshop twice, so choir members can choose to participate in two of the three workshops on offer.
Intention to enter
We will be hosting the festival in Wildern School Hall which has a maximum fire regulation number of 360. Places will be reserved for choirs on a first come first served basis. Please reply to this email to indicate if this is an event your choir would be interested in getting involved with and I will send you the appropriate registration forms.
The d.@rt coffee shop will be open throughout the day for drinks and biscuits. We advise those staying all day to bring their own packed lunches. It is a 10 minute walk into the village to a Budgens and a Co-op or a 5 minute drive to Marks and Spencers or Sainsburys.
There is plenty of parking available on the Wildern School site. Alternatively there Is a park and stride in place from B & Q, which is just a short walk from the site.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require further information at email@example.com or call me on 01489 779471
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
